This is a post graduate academic project to create theme based spaces. I have vizualised a spa setting with Mediterranean theme. The process of healing in Turkish hamams was incorporated in design process. Understanding of Architectural features, color palette , materials and textures, crafts helped in visualizing the uniqueness and feel good factor of Mediterranean.

Overall site area is 140sqm . It is a corner site in first floor of an existing building . The process of soothing is from warm to cold followed by the users retiring in massage rooms. Hot rooms and the pool area are in level one . Massage rooms are in the mezzanine level above. At the entrance along with the reception and waiting areas there is a dedicated space for small retail activity.

The pool area is well lit in contrast to the intimate areas of hot rooms and massage rooms which are darker with minimal light .
The site has a very striking facade canvas . The exploration for facade treatment is inspired from the diversity of architectural elements offered by the Mediterranean region. Facade patterns from the profiles of arches and domes found in architecture of this region becomes a wrap around the building.
